Darkening skies o'er a ship by the shore
Straining to carry him east on the wind
He held his Kate in a loving embrace
She wiped the tears from her face
Bound by the call of the cause he was torn
Swore to return to her soon as he could
On Newfoundland shores they again would be one
Soon as his duty was done
Outward he sailed to the gathering storm
Feeling his rifle so cold to the touch
Shipside the white horses tumble and fall
Faintly he heard Katy call

And bring back my Malcolm to Newfoundland's shore

Story Behind the Song:
All instruments in this arrangement were played on an Roland Edirol PCR 500 midi interface keyboard into Garageband using some Apple sounds and some shareware sounds from Ben Boldt. My first ever attempt at writing an orchestral score.
