5th Avenue
Lyrics
I'm gonna spend my life in a city that never sleeps
I'm movin' out to Manhattan whre I'll get to move my feet
I'm gonna see some things that a poor boy never sees
I'll make me a Rockerfeller fortune and I'll join the rich elite

Right there.....on 5th Avenue

I'm gonna beat to the street where the buildings touch the sky
I'm gonna do some window shoppin' for the things I'll never buy
I'm gonna stroll down the street where the yellow cabs honk their horns
I'll catch the bimbo-in-the-limo down at Tiffany's every morn'

Right there.....on 5th Avenue

Greenwich Village right thru' to Midtown
(People bustlin' from mornin' til night)
See the view from East 59th Street
Central Park is such a beautiful sight!

I'm gonna stand as tall as the mighty Empire State
I'm gonna wear a smokin' jacket and have caviar on a plate
I'm gonna get me a chauffeur 'coz I don't wanna drive
I'm gonna live my life like it's great to be alive

Right there.....on 5th Avenue

Trunk to hood the traffic goes downtown
(There's ticker-tape from last Sunday's parade)
Upper East side on thru' to Harlem
Check out the mansions tht the wealthy have made

(inst)

Limo's stoppin' all window shoppin'
(Outside Tiffany and Cartier)
Cheek to cheek with film stars and famous
You take your fortune and you spend it today

I'm gonna spend my life in a city that never sleeps
I'm movin' out to Manhattan whre I'll get to move my feet
I'm gonna see some things that a poor boy never sees
I'll make me a Rockerfeller fortune and I'll join the rich elite

Right there.....on 5th Avenue

Description
Short Song Description:
Remixed version of previous upload with some vocal effects and more emphasis on the horn work to emphasise the idea of a traffic-busy city. Think Commodores, Earth Wind and Fire, KC and the Sunshine Band etc. The pitch was to write a song about a location
Long Song Description:
Story Behind the Song:
I've never been to New York, let alone 5th Avenue. I got my source material from www.wikipedia.com This song was basically what won me the 2007 6-pack "Location, location, location" contest element. Also, this was a semi-final song in the UKSC 2008.
